Brooks Thomas is a refugee from the news industry. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in broadcast journalism. After graduation, his ship set sail for the sandy beaches of… wait for it… Waco, Texas. Brooks cut his teeth producing and occasionally reporting the news. After a little more than a year, he found himself blinded by the big city lights of Dallas, Texas. Brooks called FOX 4 News home for nearly three years, where he built the station’s social media presence. This endeavor led him to the discovery that social media was pretty fun, so he opted to find a full-time gig. Southwest Airlines was brave enough to take him under its wing. That wing is a Boeing 737. At Southwest, Brooks is responsible for managing the Company’s award-winning blog, Nuts About Southwest. This is in addition to the many odds and ends he helps tie. His mission for Southwest’s blog is to embrace Brand Journalism, and tell Southwest’s stories in an interesting and timely manner.
